Cast for Beauty & The Beast Announced

After a long day of auditions and some difficult decisions, the production team has now announced the cast for Beauty & The Beast.  Both Andrew Jenner and Philip Shaw are delighted with their principal cast and strong chorus, which they believes reflects the breadth and depth of talent in the Society.  Well done everyone who took part!

BOS saves the day!

Thanks to the bravery of our choreographer, Alison Hallford, and the strength of Lloyd Taylor, BOS saved the day at the re-dedication of Banburyplatz in Hennef when the cloth covering the new sign refused to come down.  Without a moment's hesitation Alison agreed to be hoisted aloft to free the cloth and reveal the new sign - much to the enjoyment of the crowd of well-wishers from BOS, the Twinning Association and our friends in Hennef.

BOS about to start rehearsals for Disney's Beauty and the Beast

BOS is pleased to announce that we have secured the rights to perform the stage musical adaptation of Disney's Beauty & The Beast before it is withdrawn for performance by amateur societies.  We will be performing the show in February 2012 and are delighted that Andrew Wilson-Jenner, a life member of the society, will be directing the show for us.  We are equally pleased that we have been able to persuade Philip Shaw OBE to be musical director for the show.

If you are interested in joining us for Beauty & The Beast, you can find out more about the show, performance dates, characters, auditions and an outline rehearsal schedule here.

The first rehearsal evening is on Wednesday 3rd November at Wykham Theatre, Banbury School - all welcome, even if you aren't a member, to find out more about the show.  Auditions will be held on Sunday 20th November 2011.

BOS member receives prestigious NODA Award

We were delighted to hear that our very own Janet Bishop, a life member, received a prestigious NODA Flame Award for services rendered to our Society over the years.  A shocked Janet received the award at the NODA AGM on 4th July 2010 in front of representatives from societies from all over the country.  Well done Janet!  We are proud to have you as a member of our Society.

Ruddigore Scoops NODA Award

Congratulations to everyone involved in our February 2009 production of Gilbert & Sullivan's Ruddigore.
